Replace inner tube

One of the situations that might embarrass the cyclist is popping the tire. Usually the cause is somewhere between sediment items that are on the road (glass, little stones, tiny plastic or metal objects, botched the street).

Consequently it is necessary to transport any tools during the ride or workout. Recovery time varies depending on the experience of the person who has the problem. The existence of spare tire (inner tube), air pump, two small fulcrum (tire levers) is mandatory. The cyclist may have these either in a backpack or some of them hung up on the pockets of the bike jersey.

The existence of popping noise and the reduction of tire pressure are two most common phenomena. Whether we are during our walks or workout or bike race we parked our point of not hindering others yet safe for us.
If the flat tire is the front one then things are easier. If it is rear you will need to do these actions.

                                                                        Remove wheel - Inner tube

1.- Place the appropriate speed on your bike so the chain have to go to the smaller rear sprocket cassette. In this way we achieve comfort in the movements and paying less muscle power to replace the inner tube.

2.- If your bike has brakes (V-Brakes) then open releasing the entry - exit of the wheel from the bike. If your brakes are disc brakes then the wheel comes out immediately.

3.- Pay attention when replacing the rear tire and support framework because it can contact with asphalt or soil and create wear or clogging derailleur chain and rear cassette from dust or grit or even abrasions on the frame itself, resulting in discoloration.

4.- In the case of the front wheel holding the lock (upside down) once the two ends of the release mechanism unscrew and readily releasing the wheel.

5.- Open the quick release (unlock) the wheel which has the flat tire and lift the bike in order to take out the wheel. For your convenience you can push the rear derailleur to the end of his journey backwards so that the wheels do not contact the upper gears when removing the wheel resulting in the blockage of the last one.

6.- With the bicycle wheel in your hands unscrew the valve and remove air from the inner tube. Wait until you blow out and then continue with the next steps.

7.- Place the two tire levers on the opposite side of the valve. With the help of their edges you begin to pull out of the rim, the tire. After this come out from both sides then push the valve to pass through the hole in the rim.
8.- After removing the bladder followed by visual inspection and in order to find out the cause of the cracking so not to cause us trouble again. Then look for the existence of foreign objects inside the rim. It is necessary to put our hand to find the foreign body causing the cracking. At that point you must pay attention because the cause can be a little glass and if you don’t see it you may have cut in your hands or other ugly consequences.

9. - When you are sure that there are no foreign object, start the reverse process to reposition the wheel ready for use on the bike. Pay attention especially - mainly by women not to wear rings with burrs or when their claws are big enough not to tear the tubless when trying to place it.

                                                           Replacing tire - inner tube

1.- When we are sure that foreign objects and especially the cause of the damage has been removed, slightly inflating the new bladder not to fold when you put the tire. Initially place the hose from one side to the wreath.

2.- Keep the wheel vertical to the ground and pass through the tube starting from the left side of the valve and then from the right side with the help of tire levers. Carefully place the valve in the hole that has the crown.

3.- If the cut is between 70-80mm then the inner tube can be patched. However, because of the low cost you are advised to replace the tube as not to cause trouble again in bladder of bad work.

4.- The protective film inside the rim protects the inner tube from the spokes (or eyelets) can be moved and cut the inner tube on the floor so on you are watching the rays.
5.- Pay attention when buying the tire to conform to the manufacturer's instructions. Differential dimension can only be made after consultation with the store sale.

6.- If we can not put it, the answer to the question ΄΄why it does not fit΄΄ is the fact that we inflate the  bladder more than  they should  thus  be  occupied all  the space inside the rim and not allow us to put it. If  you   strain  it  to  get,  you  may  puncture  again.  In this case the solution is to remove air from the  inner tube by having a thin object to push the valve. As soon as you blow out air you go on with the next steps.

7.- Then place the pump on the tire valve and start to inflate the tire. Periodically check for any problems. The index - bead  shows us all if the process goes well. If you observe either  a portion of the inner tube sticking  out of  the tire and inflate or  not to enter the air in the bladder immediately  stop  and  instantly  deflate the tire and follow the above steps from the beginning because there is a serious risk to pop the inner tube and the whole process stop abruptly and prematurely.

8.- If the index indicates the tire goes parallel with the rim during inflation, then keep adding air until  you see that you can΄t press the tire with your  finger. There are  pumps with pressure gauge which help you do it more easily.

9.- If you do not have gauge in your pump is no problem. Inflate as much as you can and  on your  way  try  to  find a bike shop to stop, puffed up and reach the level indicated on the tire (psi).

10.- For cases all these happen in a race so seconds count there are new kind of pumps by adding vials CO2, but these will be discussed in more detail in another chapter.

11.- If cycling is in frequent and environmentally rugged off-road use, it is deemed appropriate to do all of the above in your home to begin and become familiar with the tire change and tire replacement.
